Hidden Valley Trek (Limi)
Limi is a remote Trans Himalayan Valley in the north of Humla district bordering Tibet, it is like a small Tibet which consists of three Lama ethnic villages. Tiljungma (4100m.) in the west; Jang (3930m.) in the east; and the biggest village Halji (3700m.) in the middle. Among the Lama ethnic in Humla, Limi is the only society ruled with an iron fist, by its monastic theocracy. Those inhabitants who disobey or misbehave are punished with stiff monetary penalties. They also practice a very strict polyandrous marriage system. Limi is very suitable community for researchers in different issues of mountain life. Going to Limi means going to visit the Shangri- la villages of this ancient Buddhist community which are situated in a narrow Trans – Himalayan valley. A walk through these villages located at the banks of Karnali River , interaction with the warm and hospitable local people, and observing their traditional rituals will bring one closer to understanding the diversity of cultures in Himalayas in Nepal. This trail passes through high mountains – meadows full of flowers, streams, lakes, high towering cliffs and alpine forests. Different kinds of handicrafts are also available in these villages and can be brought back as souvenirs.

Culture: Buddhist (Tibetan), Lama Culture, at least one monasteries, a series of stupas and mani walls in each village. Halji Monastery in Limi Valley is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Nepal. Yalbang Monastery, where around one hundred monks live with their Guru, Pema Ringsal Rimporche, this recently built monastery represent the monastery of Namkha Khyungdzong, at the source of Karnali Rivers, west of Holy Mt.Kailash, in Tibet. Different religious functions and festival are performed in these manteries, through out the year.

Most Attraction of the Trek: Trekking along the gorges of Karnali and Limi Rivers , and scenic views of the landscape. The natural waterfall (Chiyachhahara) at Chachera 2350m., Tshom Lake (at 4420m.) and Selima Lake (at 4570m.) in Limi Valley, the incredible hot springs (at 2700m.) at Kermi. The whole upper Humla can be seen and experience in this trek. Different flora and fauna including medical and aromatic plants. Experience non timber forest as well as the huge alpine forest. Different types of rare birds and wild animal such as: Danphe, Musk Deer, himalayan tahr, Blue sheep and snow leopard.
Itinerary - Hidden Valley Trek (Limi)
DAY 01 Take flight from Kathmandu – Nepalgunj and stay over night at hotel
Take flight from Nepalgunj - Simikot
DAY 03 Our trek Strat from Simikot to Dharapuri (approx-6 hours) and Camp over night.
DAY 04 Trek to Kermi (2670m.) (Trekking hours – approximately 6 hours).This beautiful Lama Heritage village is a home to a divine gifted Hot Spring. Its is said that these natural hot waters have healing powers and ease away your pain and aches. Camp over night.
DAY 05 Trek to Shingjyungma (approx-7 hours) and Camp over night.
DAY 06 Trek to Talung passing Nyalu Pass (5000m.) which takes approximately 8 hours, we Camp over night near Tshom Lake .
DAY 07 Trek to Jang village (3930m.) (approx-8 hours) and Camp over night.
DAY 08 Trek to Tiljung (4100m.) (approx-6 & half hours) and Camp over night.
DAY 09 Trek to Manipeme (approx-8 hours) and Camp over night.
DAY 10 Trek to Hilsa (3670m.) (round) (approx-6 hours) and Camp over night.
DAY 11 Trek to Yari Passing Nara Pass (4500m.) which takes approximately 6 hours, and Camp over night.
DAY 12 Trek to Tumkot in Muju Village (2900m.), which is sheep caravan route for the local traders in Humla district, it takes approximately 6 & half hours. And camp over night.
DAY 13 Trek to Yalbang (2890m.) at Yangar village, where you get to see ancient Yalbang Gumba.Camp over night. (Trekking hours- approximately 6 hours.)
DAY 14 Trek to Kermi. And camp over night. (Trekking hours - approximately 6 hours)
DAY 15 Trek to Dharapori. And camp over night. (Trekking hours - approximately 5 and half hours)
DAY 16 Trek to Simikot. Stay over night. (Trekking hours – approximately 5 hours)
DAY 17 Flight Simikot - Nepaljung – Kathmandu .
